Starting our engines for Britain’s biggest motorsport weekend
We are excited to be appearing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (FOS) this week (July 13-16) with a fleet of our successful cars taking to the famous hillclimb.
As we celebrate our tenth anniversary, three of our cars will descend on the hillclimb and the forest rally stage during the four-day celebration of automotive and motorsport icons.
“We are incredibly excited to be a part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2023, a year that marks a decade of our company’s existence,” said our President, Sean Kim.
What’s on at FOS
Our most recent WRC car, the i20 N Rally1 Hybrid, will be put through its paces at Goodwood by drivers Thierry Neuville (Thursday/Friday) and Esapekka Lappi (Saturday/Sunday).
All three WTCR title winners with our cars will also be at Goodwood. 2018 victor Gabriele Tarquini, who has been instrumental in the development of every TCR car created by our Customer Racing department, will be on hand with his helmet at the ready.
2019 winner Norbert Michelisz will be behind the wheel of his title-winning i30 N TCR, while 2022 champion Mikel Azcona will run up the hill in the Elantra N TCR.
“Hyundai Motorsport has achieved so much over the past ten years, and our successes will be well represented by our chosen cars and drivers taking to the hillclimb and the forest rally stage,” concluded President Kim.
All of our cars will take to the hillclimb in Manufacturer Batch 1 across all four days. For those not attending in person, the action will be available to stream on Goodwood’s YouTube channel.
