McLaren has partnered with mmWave generation chief Blu Wireless to develop an advanced pace telemetry solution that is slated to enrich the motorsport viewership. Through this collaboration, both agencies are also aiming for new breakthroughs in connectivity performance in the motorsport environment.

Simply put, McLaren Applied and Blu Wireless will develop a data pipe that can handle all data and video streams from a race car in real time.

McLaren will provide the software architecture, initiate the integration, and assist through its rich understanding of motorsports. Its patented software will aggregate statistics throughout multiple networks and it’ll be a key enabler in mmWave technology for multi-gigabyte connectivity across all race automobile systems.

This collaborative era has been below experimentation for the past twelve months.
