McLaren To Better Motorsport Viewing Experience With More Accuracy: Here’s How
McLaren has partnered with mmWave generation chief Blu Wireless to develop an advanced pace telemetry solution that is slated to enrich the motorsport viewership. Through this collaboration, both agencies are also aiming for new breakthroughs in connectivity performance in the motorsport environment.
Simply put, McLaren Applied and Blu Wireless will develop a data pipe that can handle all data and video streams from a race car in real time.
McLaren will provide the software architecture, initiate the integration, and assist through its rich understanding of motorsports. Its patented software will aggregate statistics throughout multiple networks and it’ll be a key enabler in mmWave technology for multi-gigabyte connectivity across all race automobile systems.
This collaborative era has been below experimentation for the past twelve months. It was implemented in more than one exam and the information accrued and processed additionally included multiple HD video links with cars doing speeds of over 165mph. The device is presently in training for deployment.
“We expect this new technology to deliver an even more engaging race experience for motorsports fans, with the potential to incorporate live gaming and other forms of interaction,” described Sam Guest, Head of Motorsport Telemetry, manage & Analytics at McLaren Applied.
Also adding to this was Mark Barett, chief industrial Officer at Blu Wireless stated, “ The application we’ve developed with our partner McLaren Applied is a perfect fit for the types of environments and high speeds within which the race cars are performing. Our robust, gigabit connectivity and tailored system is certain to deliver real-time, almost life-like experience and will enhance the nail-biting excitement of motorsport for viewers.”
